Step 1: Enable Billing in SimpleSUB
A SimpleSUB administrator must activate billing in your account. You'll see a billing section in your web app once it's enabled.
Step 2: Go to Settings → Stripe → Click “Connect”
You’ll be redirected to Stripe’s secure onboarding flow.
Step 3: Create or Log Into Stripe
- Use the same email as your SimpleSUB login, unless your accounting team should manage payments.
- Default behavior: the Stripe account is tied to the email of the SimpleSUB account owner. You can add additional users later.
Step 4: Complete Stripe Onboarding
You’ll be asked for:
- Business Type (Individual, Sole Proprietor, LLC, Corp, etc.)
-
Business Information:
- Industry: Property Rentals or Utilities
- Website (social profiles work, full URL required)
- Short Product Description (e.g., “We bill tenants based on water usage”)
-
Business Representative Info:
- Legal Name, DOB, Address, Phone, SSN
-
Banking Info:
- Enter routing and account number manually
- After entry, Stripe may require dashboard verification → Verify Here
-
Public Details:
- This is what your tenants will see on their bank/credit card statements
📌 Note: Stripe may require 2FA (phone, text, or call). If identity verification fails, follow up at Account Status
Step 5: Complete Setup
- Stripe will confirm once you’re connected.
- If needed, add a fallback recovery code and verify email address.
