FAQ:
- Who pays the service fee?
- Most SimpleSUB Water customers include the $5 service fee as a line-item “service charge” in their unit water bills, but the account holder bears responsibility for paying the fee to SimpleSUB Water.
- Do I have to pay monthly?
- The service fee can be paid monthly, quarterly, or annually.
- Can I automate the payments?
- Yes, SimpleSUB Water can facilitate automated recurring payments.
- Am I allowed to recoup the service fee from my tenants?
- Many states allow property owners to recoup operating costs incurred by submetering systems, but some restrict the amount that can be passed on to tenants. Please check your local regulations.
- When does the service fee kick in?
- The service fee will be activated upon installation of the submeters.
- Customers are given a 30-day grace period from the time of shipping to complete installation. At the conclusion of the 30-day grace period, the service fee will be activated regardless of installation status of the meters.
- What happens if I stop paying the service fee?
- Failure to pay the service fee will result in the downgrading of the meter’s warranty to a standard two-year warranty, and loss of access to the web app.
- Will the service fee increase?
- SimpleSUB Water makes an effort to offer fair pricing. In the event that the company experiences increased operating costs, the company reserves the right to update fees or charges. In the event that fees change, the company will provide advanced notice to customers. Please see the complete terms and conditions for more information.
