While you're waiting for your meters to arrive, let's setup your account and property in the SimpleSUB Water app. You'll just need your computer for this one. Open app.simplesubwater.com in a browser on your computer.
Click the Create an Account tab.
From here, enter an email address and create a password then click "Create Account". Keep in mind that the email address you use will be the one that receives alerts and updates.
Next, you should receive an email from no-reply@verificationemail.com with your confirmation code. Copy that from the email and fill it in the app where it says "Enter your code" then click Confirm.
You'll be dropped into a blank home screen in the app, where you can click on Create a Property on the left side.
Follow the prompts to enter information about the property and each of its units. Keep in mind a few key points:
- A property should have a single utility water meter with a corresponding utility bill. For example, if you have a structure with two utility meters, one on the east 4 units and one on the west 4 units, you should set those up as two separate properties.
- The property name can be a nickname or shorthand for the property.
- We recommend metering everything in the property, even if it doesn't correspond to a tenant, such as irrigation and common areas. This gives insight into where unbilled water is being used, and can alert you to leaks or overuse.
Once you've created your property, you will see the property on your home screen. I've created a test property with 3 units as an example:
Now click on the property in the left side navigation. You should see all the units you created previously.
Next let's create your first tenant cost report here.
